Getting Here
Getting to Greengos is part of the adventure! We’re located right next to Semuc Champey, deep in rural Guatemala, so it does require a bit of planning. Please read through the information below to understand how transport and pick-ups work, and to plan your arrival smoothly.
Pick Up Service
Our pick-up service operates exclusively in coordination with the incoming tourist shuttles (day and night routes). Each day, we track all scheduled tourist shuttle arrivals into Lanquín and coordinate our pick-ups accordingly. This allows us to move guests efficiently and safely from Lanquín to Greengos, while reducing fuel use and our environmental impact.
Because our pick-up service coordinates with incoming tourist shuttles:
- Regular pick-ups operate only while tourist shuttles are arriving into Lanquín
- Private pick-ups outside these hours are not guaranteed and are subject to additional charges
Arriving by Tourist Shuttle
This is the most common and easiest way to arrive. If you are arriving by tourist shuttle (day or night) and have a reservation at Greengos, your pick up is guaranteed. No additional coordination is required.
When you arrive at the Tourism Bus Terminal in Lanquín:
- You will see Greengos staff waiting
- They will have a guest list with your name on it
- You’ll be picked up together with other arriving guests
Because multiple tourist shuttles arrive close together, pick-ups are grouped by arrival, not by exact time. A short wait can happen while we finish coordinating incoming shuttles — this is normal and expected.
Arriving by other modes of transport
If you are not arriving by tourist shuttle, additional coordination is required.
Because our pick-up service is organized around incoming tourist shuttles, guests arriving by other means must contact us in advance so we can confirm availability and discuss options.
We strongly recommend departing from your current location early in the morning (ideally no later than 8:00 AM) to ensure you arrive in Lanquín at a reasonable time. If you are delayed or unable to arrive on your scheduled check-in date due to traffic, road conditions, or missed connections, the missed night will still be charged, as the room has been held for you.

Plan Ahead
Private Shuttle
If you are arriving by private shuttle, please notify us before your travel dates.
- We recommend scheduling departure early in the morning (no later than 8:00 AM)
- Arriving while tourist shuttles are still arriving increases the likelihood of pick-up
- If you arrive after all tourist shuttles have already arrived, you may request a private pick up, subject to availability and additional fees
Private Car
If you are driving yourself:
- A 4×4 vehicle is recommended for the final 500 metres of road (from the yellow bridge to Greengos)
- Due to recent road construction, some vehicles are able to arrive without 4×4, but this cannot be guaranteed
- Road conditions can be difficult, especially after rain — plan to depart early in the morning and arrive in daylight
- Free parking is available outside the hotel entrance. If you prefer to leave your vehicle in Lanquín, paid parking is available in town. Please contact us in advance so we can help coordinate transportation from Lanquín to Greengos.
Colectivo (Public Transport)
If you are arriving by colectivo, contact us before your trip so that we can better assist you with your travel plans.
- Depart early in the morning (no later than 8:00 AM)
- Keep in mind that many travelers are unable to complete the journey by colectivo in one day and end up overnighting in Cobán
Onward Travel & Return to Lanquin
The return transfer from Greengos to Lanquín costs Q35 per person and departs every morning at 7AM.
If you are booking an onward tourist shuttle through Greengos, the transfer to Lanquin is already included in the shuttle ticket price. If you are not booking an onward shuttle, the Q35 transfer fee applies.

Departure & Booking Details
following information applies to both onward tourist shuttles and transfers to Lanquín.
- Guests depart from Greengos at 7:00 AM to connect with 8:00 AM shuttles departing from Lanquín
- All shuttle and transfer bookings are made in person at reception, the day before departure, before 4:00 PM
- Onward shuttle tickets must be paid in cash
- We do not make reservations more than one day in advance
